Life is a Marathon not a Sprint

It feels like it has been forever since I have actually written anything serious. I have started several post but then ended up deleting them. I have also been supper, supper, supper busy with school. I started my second 5 week summer session last week, college algebra. All though we have only had four days of class it feels like a month and a half’s worth of information. I am seriously questioning my sanity level for willingly taking these classes. While I did not get the grade I wanted in my biology class I did at least pass it therefore I’m shooting for an A in my algebra class. It wont be easy and will literally require me doing 6 to 8 hours of algebra a day but it can be done. The problem with this is it doesn't leave much time for hot dates with …well anyone but especially Gym!

Instead of my usual 3-5 times a week dates with Gym these classes have dwindled my gym time down to 1 maybe 2 times a week. However I did manage a 2.4 pound loss in June! I was shocked after the stress of my first summer session. I just knew I had gained 10 pounds. I had been spending less time with Gym, my eating habits were less than great to say the least as well.   This just goes to show that my lifestyle is changing. Permanent changes are happening. Slow and steady will win the race.

This is something that has to be a permanent change. This journey itself is a marathon not a sprint, there are no easy fixes. Besides gym time part of what keeps me healthy is writing. I have defiantly noticed changes in my emotional health when I go to long without writing. For me journaling and blogging are my sanity. It helps keep me focused on the big picture and my goals. Find what works for you.

Peace, Love and Happy Blogging

  1. Loved this! Did you know I named my blog before I ever became a runner. The endurance I was talking about was actually the healthy living mind-set,being in it for the long haul. Sounds like you've got the right idea

  3. Good luck with your math class! I know it's so tough to balance school and regular life, not to mention trying to hit the gym and not feed stress with something meant to feed hunger. ♥ And I'm totally the same way about writing - I need to express my ideas, clean out my mind, or else I start to feel cluttered and overwhelmed!

  6. I took a break from working out and blogging last month. It was not good for me. I need the support of the community, and I need the daily reminder that I should be more active! The important thing is that we both know that this is not just a quick fix and that we have to endure! Thank goodness for the blogging community!
