The Big Bad D...Walking for a cure!
Well it's that time of year again, November is diabetes awareness month. As you may know my daughter and I both are type 1 diabetics. This year, I'll be taking part in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. I’m walking because JDRF is the only global organization with a strategic research plan to fight type 1 diabetes (T1D), a serious autoimmune disease that affects millions of people. Type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. Currently, there is no cure. People with T1D must manage the disease by injecting or pumping insulin several times a day, every day. But insulin is not a cure, and it does not prevent the possibility of serious complications like kidney failure, blindness, and stroke. We can reach a world without T1D faster with your help!
