I feel like Dorothy

ruby-slippers-wizard-of-oz
My life is changing so fast before my eyes right now! I feel like Dorothy when she landed in Munchkin land, So much is changing so quickly. In the past month and a half I have had so many positive changes happen. The three biggest are that I started my new diet plan and I’m down over 10 pounds, I will be moving in a month and I am officially now a member of the working community!!! My life is moving in such a good direction these days and I feel so blessed!

I don’t know what I’m more excited about; the weight loss, moving or the job! The job is probably going to have the most effect on my life. It’s a great job with a company I can believe in. I will be selling medical supply equipment, which if you know me …you know that is right up my alley. It will be so nice to actually have the finances to do things for the first time in a long, long time. The only thing about my new job that is going to be a bit difficult will be where I have to train the first four weeks. I will be driving three hours each way every day for a month, these will be some long days. My feelings about this are that it will be worth it in the big picture though. What’s four weeks when  it means I will have a really good job!

I am also really excited about moving. Where I will be moving will be not only closer to my new job but also closer to my daughter’s Father. This means that I will actually have help with her on a regular basis when I need it! This is a huge deal for me. My daughter is also excited about this and our move. She is a little nervous about changing schools but that is to be expected. I can’t wait!

As for my new plan, it’s going phenomenal! While I’m not seeing quite as much progress as quickly as I had hoped its still going very well. I am averaging around a 2-3 pound loss per week, which is great. I have been tracking every day without missing a beat and working out at least four and as many as six days a week. All of my workouts are at home, I will not be renewing my gym membership anytime soon. I have really come to enjoy my at home workouts. I find that I have less room for excuses. I also have a core group of girlie friends who are doing the same plan as me so we often do virtual workouts together. There is something about knowing you are working out together even if its not physically in the same place. I highly recommend if you don’t have a workout buddy that you find a friend you can schedule virtual workouts with. Even if you aren’t going to the gym you can get the same routine going or even do the same workout DVD’s. It’s so much fun!

I have two weeks until I start my new job but after that for that first month I’m not sure how much updating I’ll be able to do on here so make sure you follow me on twitter or follow my facebook page to keep up with me!

Also don’t forget that the Zipfizz giveaway ends Sunday at 5pm so make sure you enter!

PS ….Thanks to all those for the congratulations on my  new job!

Zipfizz Review/Giveaway

Picture1

Picture2

When I was first contacted to do a review for zipfizz I have to say I was a bit skeptical. To be honest the box set quite a while before I finally decided to give it a try. My first thoughts were Oooh Cool water bottle! I’m always about a cool water bottle, this one even has the measurements on the side so you know how much your drinking. Another thing I noticed was the nutritional information, as a diabetic and health conscious person I almost always check the nutrition label. This stuff had some really good yummyness inside! Still a bit apprehensive and worried about the flavor (I’m funky about flavors for water) I decided the safest bet to try first would be the pink lemonade. It was actually pretty good, not to strong for me like most are. I was pretty surprised and I loved the fact that only 2 carb’s for an entire bottle I wouldn’t have to  worry about what it was going to do to my blood sugar.

Over the next couple weeks I have enjoyed the other flavors too and I love the bottle. It’s also great to shake up some protein powder. While I try to drink mostly plane water this is a nice alternative for when you need a little something extra in comparison to other sports/energy drinks.

Now for the fun part….

In addition to letting me review zipfizz they are going to give two of my luck readers a chance to try zipfizz as well! Two lucky readers will both receive the same sample pack I received along with the super awesome water bottle!

I’m keeping it simple this time…..All you have to do is leave a comment telling me your favorite thing you learned about zipfizz!

Winners will be drawn Sunday at 5pm EST.

A must read…Excesses or Solutions, YOU decide!

This is a blog I discovered this morning and it’s a must read!

I have copied and pasted the post below but it also has links within to take you to Natalie’s blog …Make sure to check her out!

Excuses or Solutions, YOU decide

By Natalie Jill On January 9, 2012 ·

Excuses or Solutions, YOU decide.

Make things happen, be a big fish in a small pond and create your own destiny.

There is no prince charming and you will not likely win the lottery:

No one will “sweep you off your feet.”It is highly unlikely that you will “win the lottery” or “inherit a windfall”. No one else will make your goals happen for you and no one else will “discover you” or “save you”. No one can magically make your weight change. No one else will do the work for you and no one else will ever care as much as you do.

Take accountability and create solutions:

Solutions: Workout, eat better, learn what will work for you. If you want to feel loved and wanted, then love yourself first. If you want more money then find a way to EARN it. If you want to achieve your goals then take the first step already and do something that involves moving towards your goals! If you are waiting for your strengths to be “discovered” then you will be waiting forever.

Change: If you need to get out of a bad situation stop waiting for someone to rescue you and make the first step towards saving yourself. Workout, eat better, learn what will work for you. Work hard, work smart, toot your own horn. Become a large fish in a small pond and SELL your own strengths to others.

It is all you: If you want something to change, YOU need to do something about it. If you want to get something done, YOU need to do it. If you want something better to happen for YOUR life, then YOU need to make that happen.

Accountability: It is no one else’s fault. It is no one else’s job to fix you. No one will ever care as much about your goals as you should. Stop blaming. Stop making excuses. Create solutions. Start taking accountability.  Get to work.  YOUR life depends on it…

Fighting for ME!

399807_10150467721235811_45529150810_9285790_1953913820_n

Chalene Johnson posted this on facebook yesterday and it kind of woke me up. It reminded me why I'm working so hard.  In case you didn't know I recently decided to take a break from school and get back into the work force. This decision was not received well by all of those close to me. Some chose to see this as me giving up or not sticking with something. This was  not the case. This was a very hard decision for me, the last year and a half in school has been nothing short of a disaster. It’s really hard to admit that but well, it is what it is at this point. The loss of my father left me feeling very isolated and alone. I have fought depression harder in this past year and a half than ever before . Thankfully, with the help of friends, a therapist and the right medications, I have have finally come out of that deep dark place. In all honesty most people had no idea I was that depressed or even depressed at all. I’m a champion at hiding my feelings.  The truth is they have no idea how lucky I am to still be here today. I teetered very far over that edge and somehow just at the last moment managed to pull back, asking for help. I feel like I have undergone a major transformation from last October until now.

Because I had shut myself off so much not everyone knew this change was going on. I was judged for who I was, not who I am becoming, by some. My decision to leave school was hard, but it came down to what was right for me, not what everyone else thought was right for me. I am not giving up on school. I plan on starting back in the fall with one class online. I will still finish and reach that goal, it will just take a bit longer. In the mean time it’s time for me to get back into the workforce. Once I made the decision about school I immediately began filling out job applications like a mad woman. When I say I was filling out applications I mean with a vengeance.  In this last month I have filled out literally hundreds of applications. Everything from Walmart to really BIG substantial jobs. While I have had a lot of activity and several interviews, alas I still am part of the unemployed.

The good news is that the resume hits I have gotten here recently and interviewed for are for AWESOME positions. I should know about one, maybe 2 big opportunities next week! I’m nervous and excited all at one time. You see along with depression came a lack of self confidence. Thankfully I feel this coming back over these last few months. I feel like ME again. Finally!

I am fighting for what I want!

Fight for YOU!

Chobani (review and giveaway)

chobani_with_greeklogo_wtag_far131
chobani1

This week I had the awesome opportunity to try out some Chobani that I have not tried before. I had emailed them about finding the new flavors near me and they offered to not only send me a sample case but also sponsor a giveaway so that you could enjoy as well! While I still have not gotten to try the new flavors, Apple Cinnamon, Blood Orange and Pomegranate…  Admittedly  I had also only tried the plane flavors like Honey and Vanilla. I am funky about yogurt and typically don’t like the fruit on the bottom ones. With regular yogurt I find it tends to make the yogurt seem mushy (for lack of a better term, lol). It’s not a flavor thing it’s a texture thing. I was quite surprised when I gave in and tried the Chobani that had the fruit.  Not only did I get that thick rich texture that Greek yogurt is known for but the fruit was more like fresh fruit instead of a jelly. YUMMO!

I am now officially obsessed with peach and mango! Finding a fruit yogurt I like also allows me to get more fruit in my diet, which is always a bonus! My new plan requires me to get in at least 2 fruits and 2 veggies each day. Lately one of my fruits comes from my Chobani Greek Yogurt. :)

Something else I would like to share about Chobani has to deal with their customer service. I was not paid or compensated in any way for this post other than some free yogurt to try but I am now in love with this company. I have never experienced such great customer care. I got a response within 2 hours to my email regarding the new flavors in my area. Awesome customer service! While they were not able to send me out any of the new flavor’s to try they did let me know that they should hit my local store shelves no later than February of this year. I am excited to try the Apple Cinnamon!

Ok now for what your really interested in…..The Giveaway!

These are my go-to’s every day right now! On my new plan with Dr. G I have also made the decision to switch from dates with Gym to at home workouts. I have to say as much as I used to fight them I have grown to love them now! It’s so much harder to make excuses not to workout with all the tools at home. I do miss the elliptical though. I don’t miss my old gym however because the new ownership and hours were terrible. Another great thing these days is my group of friends who are all on the same plan as I am. It is so much fun having friends who know what your goals are, workout with you and help keep you accountable. Accountability throughout the day has been key for me.

Tomorrow I will be going into week 4 of my new plan. So far I am down 7.4 pounds. It may be a little more than that (tomorrow is my official weigh in day). I am so excited about my new plan, it is so do-able. I have easily added it to my daily routine and am breaking those BAD habits. I can’t wait to go to the clinic next week and see what my monthly loss is and how much muscle mass I have gained.

Another big focus for me right now is finding a JOB! I have made the decision to take a break until the fall with school. Even then I am still going to work full time only doing one or two classes online. I have had a lot of activity in my job search but still no job yet. I did have an awesome interview last Thursday for a job that I would love to get. My interview went fantastic and I am praying I get a call back for this job this week!

    My goals for this week:

      • Apply for jobs(hopefully get callback from interview last week)
      • Track every day
      • Workout at least 4 days
      • Clean out “junk” room
      • Start packing
