Time’s a waste’n

Creeps in this petty pace from day to day”
~William Shakespeare

Is time really wasting or am I just wasting time? This last couple months with summer classes has really kept me busy and killed my routine. The crazy heat here in NC has not helped either! While I do love an outdoor workout on a nice cool crisp morning those are still just excuses, the gym is nice and cool as well ( most of the time anyways). The truth of the matter is, yep you guessed it, I have pulled out that silly old excuse book again. I really wish I could loose that book!

We all have things that come up in life and get in the way but, it does not make getting your healthyness journey on impossible. It can be quite difficult some days but, not impossible. It all comes down to priorities. While school is supper important to me so is being healthy. I have let this healthyness journey slip so far down the totem pole these past couple weeks its really not even funny. I have let my eating go to complete crap and flat out quit going to the gym these last two weeks. Yes I had tons of school work going on and stress to the max, but what relieves stress better than a good workout and putting nutritious things into your body. Heck as much as I am ashamed to admit it I even bought cigarettes! What was I thinking, I quit smoking over a year ago!!! Sad smile

I’m sure you have also noticed that I have not been blogging (or writing at all, period). For me this is a big mistake. Blogging helps me keep myself accountable.   Writing/blogging keeps me mentally on track and healthy. Writing is my sanity. I know when I “cant” bring myself to write that I am not doing what I need to do to take care of me. My #gothedist goal for this month was once again not just miles but also to write 15 days, I think I have logged about 6 for the month so far. I don’t like this one bit. That was yesterday though and today is a new day!

Starting today fresh after I have my coffee (got to have this) I have my water already made up in the fridge and I will be hitting the gym this morning once the kid get’s up. I am going to get my serious sweat on. For me this journey is not about achieving a size 2 pants, it is about being able to do. I can not “do” when I skip the gym, eat crap and smoke! I know I can do this so it’s time to get busy and kick some butt!

Peace, Love and Happy Blogging

  1. We all fall off every now and again. It's being able to get back on that matters. You know what you need to do, you have the ability to re-focus, and you're starting one step today. I've come and gone with smoking too and it's a great stress relief for me as well. Don't beat yourself up over it if you know you can quit since you quit before. You GOT THIS Misty!! I'm looking forward to your next update. :)
